“A house is a machine for living”

Talk by Carlo Alberto Carnevale Maffè Technologies, styles, attitudes and ways of living of contemporary society are projected into the home through those who live there. What elements allow us to read and interpret its evolution?

The meeting on technologies and ways of living of contemporary society organized by SAIB took place on 10 December 2019, in the presence of representatives of some of the major companies in the furniture sector. In the frame of the new Spazio 5 / A showroom in Caorso, SAIB has chosen to dedicate the day to the study of important and current issues related to sustainability and the changes taking place in the way of living.

The need to respect, safeguard and regenerate nature belongs to the DNA of SAIB, which since 1994 has been producing chipboard and faced panels using only recycled wood.

Carlo Alberto CarnevaleMaffè, Associate Professor of Practice of Strategy and Entrepreneurship at SDA Bocconi School of Management, exhibited his lucid vision of tomorrow’s home – sustainable, intelligent and service-oriented – and his analysis on the importance of issues related to sustainability in industrial mass production they highlighted SAIB’s strengths and traced a virtuous path for all the players in the process.

Among the most interesting data to think about in order to rethink the industrial production of furniture, the projection according to which in 2020 more than 75% will be the consumers who will choose goods based on sustainable product features. Responsibly and consciously changing goods in the name of a governed life cycle is the future of furnishings.
